Osphena (generic: ospemifene) is a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM). It binds to estrogen receptors in a tissue-selective way: in the vaginal tissue it acts like estrogen (agonist effect) to restore the lining and improve lubrication, while in other tissues it may act differently.
