Apidra SoloSTAR Pens are prefilled insulin pens prescribed to control blood sugar levels in people with diabetes mellitus. They deliver rapid-acting insulin glulisine to help manage blood glucose spikes around mealtimes.
Please note: a valid prescription is required for all prescription medication.
Apidra SoloSTAR Pens are disposable, prefilled insulin devices that contain insulin glulisine, a fast-acting insulin analogue that helps lower blood sugar levels following meals. They’re intended for use in people with either type 1 or type 2 diabetes, typically as part of a basal-bolus insulin regimen.
Unlike long-acting insulin, Apidra works quickly. It begins to lower blood glucose levels within 15 minutes, peaks in about 1 hour, and continues working for 2 to 4 hours. Because of its quick action, it’s best taken shortly before or soon after meals, depending on your doctor’s instructions.
Each SoloSTAR pen is loaded with 300 units of insulin glulisine, and the device allows for dosing in 1-unit increments, up to a maximum of 80 units per injection.
