FAQs
Buy Eylea Online As we age, our eyesight begins to deteriorate, and the vision loss becomes even more obvious in time. Some medical conditions can further advance the loss of vision and other eye-related problems. Buy Eylea online from a certified and reputable online store, like the OnlinePharmacy, and browse other ophthalmic products from our website that can refresh your view on life. What is Eylea? Eylea is a brand-name medication meant for intravitreal injection only. This injection system contains aflibercept, a biological medicine created to prevent the buildup of fluids inside the eye due to the abnormal growth of blood vessels around the macula. By reducing the growth of constricting blood vessels, Eylea can treat various conditions, such as wet age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. Use the prescription from your healthcare provider to order an Eylea 2 mg/0.05 mL prefilled syringe or a single-use vial from our OnlinePharmacy website. Enjoy our fast ordering and delivery system. Usage and Indications of Eylea Eylea is used to treat: • Neovascular (wet) age-related macular degeneration (AMD). This condition can cause blurry vision, blind spots, fading colors, and difficulty reading and driving. • Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP). Premature infants can end up with eye problems such as crossed eyes, severe nearsightedness, white pupils, and abnormal eye movements. • Macular edema following retinal vein occlusion (RVO). The symptoms of this condition can appear as distorted vision, blurry vision, the appearance of eye floaters, blind spots, and loss of vision in one eye. • Diabetic retinopathy (DR). Individuals with this condition may experience eye floaters, blurred vision, difficulty seeing in low light, and the continuous loss of vision. • Diabetic macular edema (DME). Patients with diabetes may eventually face symptoms like blind spots, floaters, faded colors, blurred vision, wavy lines, and difficulty reading under bright lights. How Does Eylea Work and Which Are the Active Ingredients? Eylea is a medicine that contains the anti-neovascularization agent Aflibercept as its main active ingredient. Aflibercept is a fusion protein with portions of human VEGF receptors 1 and 2 and the Fc portion of human IgG1 that is produced by recombinant DNA technology inside Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells. This fusion protein acts as a vascular endothelial growth factor-A (VEGF-A) and placental growth factor (PlGF) antagonist by stopping them from stimulating the formation of abnormal blood vessels and their leakage inside the eye(s). It’s the key process that makes Eylea an ideal medicine to prevent vision loss and minimize various eye problems related to conditions such as AMD, ROP, RVO, DR, and DME. Other ingredients include: • Sodium dihydrogen phosphate, monohydrate (for pH adjustment) • Disodium hydrogen phosphate, heptahydrate (for pH adjustment) • Polysorbate 20 (E 432) • Sodium chloride • Sucrose • Water for injections Dosage and Administration Eylea is meant to be injected by a medical professional or a qualified physician only. The recommended dosage should be as follows: • For the treatment of wet age-related macular degeneration, macular edema following retinal vein occlusion, diabetic retinopathy, and diabetic macular edema, the recommended dosage is 2 mg injected intravitreally every 4 weeks. • To treat retinopathy of prematurity, the recommended dose should be 0.4 mg every 10 days. • Do not use the prefilled syringe or the vial if the solution isn’t clear or bright yellow. • The solution should be injected with a 30G 1/2 inch (13 mm) needle. • The prefilled syringe contains more solution than the recommended 2 mg for the expulsion of air bubbles and the excess drug. • Do not use the medicine if any part of the package is damaged or if the solution contains particles or discolorations. Storage Information • Store the package in a refrigerator between 2°C and 8°C (36°F and 46°F). • Do not freeze it. • The vial can be stored outside the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. • Keep the content of the package away from heat, moisture, or direct sunlight. • The shelf life of this medication is 2 years. Side Effects (Adverse Reactions) • Common side effects of this medicine can include bloodshot eye, pain, blurred vision, floaters, increased tear production, feeling something foreign in the eye, light sensitivity, observing flashes or sparks of light, and swelling of the eyelid. • Rare and more severe adverse reactions may appear as endophthalmitis, retinal detachments, retinal vasculitis with or without occlusion, bleeding in or around the eye, increased pressure in the eye, headache, pus in the eye, and allergic reactions with severe intraocular inflammation, pruritus, anaphylactoid reactions, rash, and urticaria. Seek medical attention if any of the common side effects last longer than a couple of days or if you experience any of the adverse reactions. Precautions and Warnings • Avoid this medicine if you have an ocular or periocular infection or an active intraocular inflammation. • Patients with known hypersensitivity to aflibercept or any of the ingredients should not use this medication. • This medication is not recommended for pregnant or lactating women. • The use of this drug can cause vision impairment, so avoid driving or operating heavy machinery until your vision is back to normal. • Tell your doctor or a healthcare professional if you have a high risk of having a heart attack, stroke, or a blood clot. • Inform your doctor if you have glaucoma. • Avoid applying makeup for at least 24 hours after the procedure. Drug Interactions Eylea is well-tolerated when used with other medications or substances.
